Your career horoscope for the week commencing 16th April by Peter Watson.
ARIES Mar 21 - Apr 20
For rather too long you might have felt that others have been dictating the way in which you manage your finances, business matters or certain of your assets. So it makes perfect sense for you to now feel ready to take charge of anything and everything that you have and own and which certain people have wanted to control. You don’t have to be aggressive about it but you do need to assert yourself within territory that has been dominated by those who have failed to acknowledge you as the one who is meant to be in authority. This week, when the Sun enters one of the money-related or business sectors of your chart, enjoy flexing your muscles and showing that you’re no longer willing to play second fiddle to anybody else.
TAURUS Apr 21 – May 21
There’s little doubt that your instincts will steer you away from an arrangement that’s unlikely to do you much good. You might also hope that you’ll be guided towards a proposition or plan that could prove extremely beneficial in the end. And this is quite likely since the Moon moving into Gemini mid-week is making your sixth sense razor-sharp when you’re having to judge whether or not to spring into action. No matter what other people might then suggest it’s vital that you heed whatever you’re being told by an inner voice trying to persuade you that you know best. The best time to embark on a new strategy or way of operating is during the second half of the week when the Moon will make sure that you’re at your most intuitive.
GEMINI May 22 - Jun 21
Initially you’ll have a tendency to mop up all the unfinished work or untidy areas of responsibility which other people have neglected. It will seem to you to be the best solution because it means that everything will be up to scratch once more. However, on thinking about it a little more carefully you’ll start wondering whether you’ll be left with some underlying resentment and anger if certain individuals are allowed to get off scot-free. This is especially likely as Venus is opposed by Jupiter early in the week. So those to whom you are normally polite and respectful may go plummeting down in your opinion as you realise that they really have not been pulling their weight. This is why you mustn’t find yourself handling responsibilities that they themselves have neglected.
CANCER Jun 22 - Jul 23
As you hear workmates, friends or peers talk of new challenges which they find intriguing you’ll wonder whether you should also be broadening your horizons in some way. Certainly with a New Moon occurring in Aries this week there might be an extremely bright light being shone in some dark corners in which you seem to have allowed yourself to become a little bit inactive, perhaps even lazy. And you mustn’t be surprised if this New Moon begins to generate in you feelings of restlessness and dissatisfaction with regard to your earnings, responsibilities or reputation. No-one’s suggesting that you do anything rash. But perhaps it is time for you to reflect on progress you’ve made – or haven’t made – recently and whether or not you need to give yourself a wake-up call.
LEO Jul 24 - Aug 23
Just recently you have found yourself treading a path which requires you to be diplomatic and practical at a time when you would really have liked to let peers, colleagues or employers know your true feelings about an awkward situation. And this approach has proved useful in that it has prevented any major rows cropping up with regard to historical grievances affecting one or two other people. From this week onwards, however, with your ruler the Sun reaching a very visible point in your chart, you’ll begin to realise that it is taking too much out of you to suppress your strongly-held opinions. That’s why you need to rehearse ways in which to put across certain views that might be perceived as controversial but which you can no longer keep to yourself.
VIRGO Aug 24 - Sep 23
Irritating though it may be to have to work with or alongside people you don’t find helpful or sympathetic, you may just have to put up with it. And if that does turn out to be the case you must make the best possible use of the Sun’s liaison with Uranus which is directly affecting the section of your chart that governs all partnerships and joint responsibilities. This should help you find inspired ways of approaching those individuals who you would dearly love to talk around to your way of thinking. Don’t forget that Uranus can bring out an ingenious streak in you with which you should be able to convince those concerned that you and they should be able to find a formula for productive, enjoyable collaboration with one another.
LIBRA Sep 24 - Oct 23
Any day now you will decide that you can no longer bring about certain outcomes within an area of responsibility without being given help. Your pride has no doubt got in the way recently and prevented you from admitting that you would welcome some support. But this week as the Sun enters Taurus you’ll begin to think quite differently about collaborating with others and enjoying the fact that you’re all in it together. With the Sun in the section of your chart governing partnerships and shared endeavours you can almost certainly re-think your mind-set and embrace the idea of working with others as a team. After all, this would be much better than remaining a lone operator and having the burden of budgets, deadlines and timetables to cope with entirely on your own.
SCORPIO Oct 24 - Nov 22
Time and again you’ve wondered whether you have sufficient stamina, strength or expertise to mastermind an area that promises all sorts of rewards. And you seem to have grown tired of fostering all these doubts and uncertainties when there’s a part of you that would like to go charging ahead and take on the challenge that’s been facing you for a while. This is why you’ll be affected by the New Moon occurring in the go-getting sign of Aries. It’s stimulating the part of your chart that governs hard work and heavy lifting. And you’re about to decide that you’re ready to flex muscles and prove that you’re no longer going to stand on the outside wondering whether to step in and take on this pretty big undertaking that you’ve been skirting around until now.
SAGITTARIUS Nov 23 - Dec 21
You of all people know how important it is sometimes to roll up your sleeves and get on with whatever needs doing. And certainly this week with Venus allied to Pluto you’ll have no problem in recognising the point at which you have to brush aside any feelings of apathy and swing into action. Yes, this might require you to make some sort of financial contribution in order to have the necessary resources to enable you to get the job done. But you’ll know deep down that anything invested in this way will pay off very handsomely indeed. And of course with Pluto involved it’s quite likely that you’ll delve deep and come up with the kind of inspiration, creativity and skills that will mean that success is virtually guaranteed.
CAPRICORN Dec 22 - Jan 20
Find a way to turn down the volume when a number of people are continually complaining about everyday responsibilities that they regard as boring and mundane. You’re quite sensible enough to know that at times we’re all duty-bound to get such responsibilities done and out of the way. This week especially, with the Moon entering Gemini, you’ll find yourself feeling quite passionate about this constant need in those concerned to talk non-stop about being hard-done-by and the unfairness of the situation. As far as you’re concerned, it’s simply a matter of pitching in and doing what’s expected of you. Of course you’ll be the one setting a good example. But you’ll also be the one making light of daily chores so that you are left free to enjoy, and feel inspired by, more exciting things.
AQUARIUS Jan 21 - Feb 19
It’s quite possible that some of your relatives or friends consider aspects of your home or family life to be your main concern. You, on the other hand, will think you owe it to yourself to pursue developments in the wider world or changes in your professional or financial affairs with everything you can muster. And with Jupiter opposed by Venus it’s not really surprising that you’re about to find yourself at odds with those who think your priorities are misplaced. Your challenge will be to adopt a rational, respectful approach to those concerned and explain how important it is for you to give everything you’ve got to commitments that could and should bring worthwhile rewards in the end. Does this mean you would be ignoring domestic or personal responsibilities? Never.
PISCES Feb 20 - Mar 20
Try not to let other people’s cynical views dissuade you from exploring areas in which you might be able to make good use of special assets or gifts you’re proud to call your own. The fact that the Sun’s colluding with Uranus in a materialistic section of your chart helps explain why you’ll suddenly feel keen to achieve something which promises worthwhile returns. And you’ll be especially inventive and possibly quite daring in terms of your approach because of the way in which Uranus is impacting you. Don’t be surprised if you start wanting to experiment with unconventional ways of capitalising on whatever you have at your disposal in order to bring about the desired outcome. You certainly shouldn’t take notice of anyone suggesting you’re getting it all wrong. What do they know about it?
